The NATIONAL DEPARTMENT


The Structure

  • The National Department is the representative forum of the Regional / Geographical Divisions
  • Each Division is created by local or regional Romanian organizations.
  • The Regional CONVENTION is the General Assembly of the Regional Romanian Organizations and Individual Romanian Members.
  • The Regional CONVENTIONS aprove and propose to the General Assembly the candidates for the Director of National Department.
  • Only a Representative of an incorporated Romanian Organization or a Platinum Member is qualified to run for the Director of National Department

    Departments attributions and duties

  • The Department carry out the executive functions of the organization.
  • The Department is self-sustaining; an equal percentage of its income shall be given for the common fund of the World Romanian Congress, as it will be established by the annual General Assembly.
  • The Department shall present to the Board of Directors the annual proposal plans to incorporate budgets for expenditures and incomes.
  • The National Department main functions are to preserve the heritage and spiritual values of Romanian language, history, traditions, and culture and to monitor any case of discrimination against the Romanian nationals living in countries bordering Romania (Basarabia, Ukraine, Serbia).

    The National Department Director

  • The Director of National Department is elected and is nomitated by the vote of the General Assembly between the candidates poposed by the Regional Conventions .
  • The Director is elected for a four-year’s term and is confirmed annually by the General Assembly based on his accomplishments.
  • At the moment of appointment, or 60 days after appointment he or she must resign from any leadership position of any other organization.
  • There are no term limits for his or her re-election.
  • The National Department Director is a member of the Board of Directors.
  • The National Department Director carries out the President’s duties when the President is suspended or the execution of his mandate becomes impossible.
